Level 7 or 8
Various third level universities or institutes of technology offer the BA in Early Childhood Care & Education. Please check with individual organizations.
Accredited Training
Accredited Training includes training which awards a qualification from a registered awarding body such as FETAC as described above.
The NQAI has developed the National Framework of Qualifications which is a ten level system that incorporates awards made for all stages of learning, whether it is gained in schools, the work place, and the community, training centres, colleges or universities. On completion of an accredited childcare training programmes you should receive a qualification that fits somewhere on the National Qualification Framework. See frame work below.
Non-accredited training
Cavan CCC run a range of short courses, one evening workshops and information sessions. The type of training we do includes First Aid, Buntus start, Child Protection, Speech & Language, Recruitment & employment legislation, Fire Safety, workshops on Play, Consulting with Children, Arts & Crafts….and the list goes on. Every year we organize different training in response to the needs of the childcare staff working in the services. Please see our training calendar below for a list of non accredited training for Autumn 2010.
