Opening your own childcare business?
If you are thinking about opening your own business, whether it is private or community based here is a brief breakdown of some of first steps.
Contact Cavan County Childcare Committee for advice and support during the process.
Step 1. Decide on type of service – private, community based, full day care, sessional etc etc.
Step 2. Determine what level of need there is for the service in your area.
Step 3. Ensure suitability of premises by contacting HSE or establish what level of work needs to be undertaken before you can operate,
Step 4. Do a business plan to establish whether it is a viable business opportunity or not.
Step 5. Ensure you have sufficient funds to fund the project.
Step 6. Apply for planning permission if more than six children will be attending.
Step 7. Complete work, purchase equipment.
Step 8. Notify the HSE of your intention to operate a childcare service.
